The Age of Plenty

Roots-rock, folk and soulful. This roots singer-songwriter delivers his third album with world class musicians and old school recording tones from Colorado's high country mountains. Recorded over ten days in a high mountain picturesque Colorado studio, this album was Von's effort to not only capture great performance, but great tones. The room, the mics, the instruments, the "vibe," it all added up to something raw, good, and truthful. Loud and modern was not the goal; here the goal was honesty. The songs range from Roots-Rock, to American Folk, and something very original from Von was amongst all the songs.

Recorded in an old farmhouse in Maine, the album captures the boot stompin’ vibe of a live room, while melding the sounds of trumpet, dobro, piano, lap steel, upright bass and drums. The songwriting this time around has a palpable intimacy, and the musicians take risks with some hearty extended musical jam’s.
